This was an alteration request. My 19th commission for Jeff, he asked me to take his art already fully-inked by Mitch and add a new dimension to the background. My idea was to blacken in the city of Atlantis (adding white lights) which I liked, adding black ink spatter into the underwater background (but leaving the swirls white) which I didn’t love, adding a gray wash to the sea floor and then some white finger smudges to play up some dusty, sandy activity, which I was happy with. This way I popped out the figures and hopefully didn’t ruin Mitch’s original image. My 5th job over Mitch (sort of), this 11X17 image was completed on 3/4/2006.
