This was my 2nd appearance in artist alley at NYCC and it was a whirlwind adventure but without all the chaos of last year (OK, a little chaos, but a much better show overall, especially
at double the space). Artist alley(AA) was in a separte hall on a higher level from the exhibitors hall and this is a shot of me descending the escalator from that 2nd level (photo 1). This is
a photo from the exhibitors hall and you can see the protruding viewing windows from artist alley (photo 2). I traveled with my pals Ernie Pelletier and Andrew Wiernicki (who had his own
table in AA displaying his various sculpts but I sadly didn't get to take a pic of him). Here's a collection of pals from the Boston area, l-r: Ernie, myself, Bob Shaw of Serendipity Art Sales,
and Matt Herring (front) previously of Matman Comics and now Secret Identity Podcast (photo 3).
I spent the weekend sharing space with Rodney Ramos & I was across from my Vampirella pal Mike Lilly. The best aspect of attending a NY show is the catching up with old friends.
Robin & Elayne Riggs is one example (photo 4) and we shared a few words regarding the recent passing of mutual friend Leah Adezio. I was also able to meet inker Phyllis Novin for the
first time. She started out assisting Bob Layton and advanced to solo work some years ago (she briefly helped me on a project back in '99) and you can now find her working for Bongo
Comics. On Saturday I had a signing with Penny-Farthing Press (photos 6-10). I met met new senior editor Celina Paquette (not shown) and I spent time with Charles Hancock, Pamela
Miltenberger and Charles' wife (who's name I sadly cannot recall- photo7, r-l).

After a decade since my first PFP assignment I hadn't met any of the staff until Heroes Con last year where I met my DECOY art partner Courtney Huddleston. He didn't make it to this
venue and while Marlaine Maddux, Trainor Houghton, & publisher Ken White did make the event from Texas I unfortunately missed them all weekend. But I did get to attend the signing to
promote the CAPTAIN GRAVITY & THE POWER OF THE VRIL trade alongside writer Joshua Dysart & CG creator Stephen Vrattos and we had a great time talking to fans & gabbing about
the biz (photo 10). Well, that's a quick photo summary and hopefully I'll have another NYCC recap for next year at, again, 'double the space' insanity:-)

I've attended several Pittcon shows and that is due to it being hosted by my fave 2 promoters Michael & Renee George plus their family & wonderful volunteers to consistently produce a
top-notch, family event. I roomed with Bob & Kim Shaw of Serendipity Art Sales whom I spent time with along with pals Mike (off-)White, Alex Saviuk, & Tom Smith. Numerous fans
attended the shows in costume as can be seen on the show floor & artist alley (photos 1&2). I got to briefly hang out with long-time pal Mike Oeming (#3), I was happy to meet prolific
commission client Stu Neft who's a mutual member of the Comicart-L mailing list (#4), introduce myself to Khoi Pham whom I inked 3 commissions over last year (#5), finally get to know
the gracious & kind Rudy Nebres & his wife (#6), and even share time with Renee George and a cast of 1000s at the post-show penthouse party (#7). I also got to catch up with my bud
Scott Ambruson of Tat Studios, laugh my butt off to the hilarious quips of my 'neighbor', writer Chris Yambar, and chill with pals Angel Medina and Neil Vokes among many others.
2008 simply can't come fast enough!
