(above) Pencils by Al Rio
Both my 3rd commission for James and 3rd job over Al Rio, I was asked by the client to remove the moon in the background. Much of the figure was done in marker but I did most of the contours and some of the feathering with brush. I used a brush marker to capture Al's pencil strokes in the background to capture the speed & energy of the image. I did dry brush for the shadow on the board, some razor scraping for the shine over it, and white paint spatter for the stars. I finished this 11 X 17 commission on 6/13/05.
