In COMICS BUYER'S GUIDE # 1637 there is a 3-page feature by Ray Sidman on page 40 titled "First Salvo Courts Danger's Dozen". In the
article, besides summarizing the make-up of the team and the production plans, there's is a run-down of creative talent involved including
myself. Sample art is included but nothing I worked on.
MARVEL HANDBOOK UPDATE! I almost missed that in the MARVEL LEGACY: THE 1990s HANDBOOK, 'Captain Marvel''s (Legacy) inset art is
by Ron Lim & myself from our cover of COSMIC POWERS # 4 ('95). Also, Sal&Bob art is used for inset art for 'Man-ape' in OHOTMU A-Z
UPDATE # 4. Also the Zalkor inset from the 'Count Abyss' entry of the same issue by Pat Olliffe & moi. (handbook appendix site link above)
11/16/07 Some of you may've noticed that the Marvel office goofed and forgot to tack on the interior credits to QUASAR # 4. While the cover credits are
correct (Gage/Lilly/Almond/Peru) I thought it a good idea to mention that Mark McKenna & Roland Paris were pulled in for 5 pages each to ink
due to production lateness out of our control and my upcoming Orlando vacation plans. Thanks, guys!
CONVENTION UPDATE: after a succesfull Boston show last month I am tentatively planning on attending the next one on Sunday March 16.
Early in 2008 I'll post a show schedule recap for those few of you intending to stalk me;-)
10/16/07 After several curveballs & hurdles I finally returned to A First Salvo Productions post-Quasar after a year absense. I am inking British penciler
John Royle on several chapters of the DANGERS DOZEN arc "Powerplay". Also, FSP publisher Thad Branco hired Sal Velluto & myself to
render a DD cover, allowing us to meet our requirement of 10 years of straight work together as a team (minus commissions). Once I know
where these & future material for FSP will show up I will post it all here. Click the Newsarama icons to read Thad's FSP 2-part interview for
more info & the creators involved.
CONVENTIONS UPDATE: 2 months ago I had boubts about there being a Pittsburgh Comicon next year but I was mistaken. Renee George has
assured me that it will indeed take place and I will be there to support them in April as usual alongside Bob Shaw again. To see who else is
going check out their site by clicking the icon. In the meantime, I'll be at the Boston Comicbook show this Sunday.
BITS-N-PIECES: Due to production delays QUASAR 4 will not ship 10/17 but instead 10/31****SKETCH MAGAZINE#33 erred and used the same
title for this column as last issue, "A Look at Inking History" (FWIW, the column is about "Reference & Research")****SilverBulletComics posted
an interview with Van Plexico on 9/27 re: the "ASSEMBLED" book (8/24), click the icon****FYI, my art rep Bob Shaw's site "Serendipity Art Sales"
has had to change it's URL address, posted below**** ANNIHILATION: CONQUEST BOOK 1 HC will ship January 23 and include QUASAR 1-4
among other related stories(cover-top left).

A new interview has been posted at Jazmaonline by Richard Vasseur (click the logo).
This fall marked the 10th anniversary of Sal Velluto & my creative relationship which began when asst. editor at Acclaim Comics Alex Glass
called me up the fall of '97 to ink Sal for BLOODSHOT # 8. We have been hired for gigs consistently every year since then...except this year!
Hopefully, if all goes well, I'll soon be reporting here of a small job from us.
Jason Pearson is organizing the 'Ringo tribute book project for Heroes Con 6/08 for charity. I offered my services so in the coming months I
look forward to seeing what penciler I get paired with and what the content will be. I'll keep y'all posted.
8/24/07 My fellow 'Jarvis heads' from the Elitist Bastards Avengers Yahoo group mailing list have put together a book of essays on the history and
creators of the AVENGERS title over the decades. Pal Keith DeCandido, another member & best-selling novelist, wrote the introduction and
was kind enough to mention me among the creator members (like Tom Brevoort, Jim Salicrup, Fabian Nicieza, & Kurt Busiek). Van even used a
quote of recommendation of mine to sell it at his site FWIW;-) But if you're a serious Avengers fan I give it my highest recommendation.
CONVENTIONS UPDATE! My family & I will be at the 2nd Orlando Comicon next month, September 21-23. You can click the logo/ links (left) on
this page for more info. After that I will attend the 2nd Boston Comic Book Convention Sunday October 21st. Click the logo for more info
(coming soon). Sadly, events some weeks ago relating to the promoters make it unlikely IMHO that there will be a '08 Pittsburgh Comicon and
my support and best wishes go out to the family. So since I won't be at the next NY Comicon, the only other show I have set up is June '08's
Charlotte Heroes Con which has a phenomonal guest list almost a year in advance! Click the logo to see 4 yourself!
You can order it here
MARVEL HANDBOOK UPDATE! OHOTMU A-Z UPDATE # 3 has clip art from Sal & myself for 'Klaw' from BP # 26 & 28 and 'Morgan' from BP#16.
Also, all 4 'Legacy' handbooks will be collected as a trade in November. Besides scanning images for these I submitted unused, new art for
'Black Tarantula' by Patrick Zircher & myself.
